BIO
Humerio Mendez has been making paintings and sculpture for 25 years since moving to Minnesota from New Orleans, Louisiana. His work has been influenced by Picasso, Kandinsky, Bob Ross, and others.
ARTIST STATEMENT
When I take the brush in my hand, I never know what is going to happen. I’m also a saxophone player, and for me, art making is like jazz music—it’s improv. It’s flow.
