Cosette Melton Hanily was born and raised in Minnesota where their passion for art was ignited. They earned their bachelor's degree in psychology and studio art at Gustavus Adolphus College. They participated in various individual and group exhibitions and received several awards including the Art Department Award (2024) and the Gustavus Art Scholarship.
My work contains the overarching theme of what often goes unsaid and unnoticed in individuals’ lives. I base the works off of my own experiences. In doing so, I aim to more realistically discuss touchy subjects in a way that is relatable to the audience without compromising the personal nature of the works.
