Cheryl Casteen has 3 art degrees. She has taught art, mostly to college students, for decades. Cheryl has been making art for 50 years in the US, and also in Russia, NZ, and Germany. This summer She is traveling to Armenia to make art with Armenians. She takes photos daily. She talks art, thinks art, dreams art. Now I'm focused on how to use Art as Resistance. I hope you are too.
I aim to penetrate and dissolve the membranes that separate private from public, artist from subject, viewer from voyeur, sexual from spiritual, and sacred from profane. I do this by creating a space for the unexpected to occur. I concur with British art critic John Ruskin--“To see is poetry, prophecy, and religion, all in one.”
