Professionally, I am a mental health therapist. In my free time, I love working with ceramics. I took my first ceramics course in college in 2013, but after graduating, I didn’t have easy access to a studio until I became involved with the Arts Center of Saint Peter in the spring of 2023--which is where I currently make all of my pottery.
I call my pottery endeavor Ontology Clay. "Ontology" refers to the branch of philosophy that studies being and existence—a concept that resonates with me because working with clay brings me into a contemplative, inquisitive state, allowing me to explore the material’s potential. The process draws me into an embodied dialogue with form, structure, and the raw materials of nature.
