BIO

I primarily make functional ceramics, taking inspiration primarily from images found in nature and the world around me. I began my love of clay in high school and after a 'break' I started up in earnest again about 15 years ago. I also make chain mail jewelry – I can’t just sit and do nothing in the evening after all!

ARTIST STATEMENT

The tactile nature of working with clay often acts as a form of meditation for me and it helps to quiet and focus my mind. I'm also very interested in varying surface decorating techniques and, as a result, my work is always changing. Chain mail is more portable than a pottery wheel so it travels with me & I love watching jump rings transform into jewelry.
