Mindy Smith is an embroidery artist based in North Mankato.  She has explored a wide range of artistic mediums since childhood, but have ultimately found her passion in fiber art. In today’s fast paced world, Mindy enjoys the calmness and focus required by the slow nature of embroidery.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I create realistic, intricate fiber works that invite close inspection and careful viewing. I enjoy pushing boundaries through dimensional, 3D works that extend beyond the surface. Drawn to the movement and texture of fiber, I explore forms that echo those found in nature.
