Dustin Swiers

BIO

Dustin Swiers is a talented local artist who specializes in working with metal, glass, and ceramic. Swiers holds a BFA and an MA from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a focus on ceramics and sculpture. In 2010, he established Flame in Hand Glass as the sole proprietor. He now works and teaches at the Mankato MakerSpace.

ARTIST STATEMENT

The attraction I have to art making mostly comes from the materials themselves and the way in which they are manipulated. Nature has been and will always move and shape things; a constantly swirling equilibrium of destruction and creation. I seek the same sense of balance in my work. I attempt to capture and showcase a snapshot of forces in action.
