Malia is a full time artist who works on commission creating paintings for people of their beloved animals. She grew up on a farm, worked at the vet clinic and has always adored animals. Her passion for art led her to receive a Bachelors Degree in Art from Bethany Lutheran College and now has combine her art and love for animals, operating her own business.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I am inspired by memories from my childhood such as, hot summer days playing make-believe in the woods, crocheting with my grandma and caring for my animals. My most compelling work features crochet blankets in unexpected pairings with animals. Connecting crochet and animals through painting has been an exciting challenge for me.
