Tin Can Valley Printing Co.

BIO

Craig Kotasek has been printing since 1999, when looking for a method to reproduce his ink drawings, he discovered the allure of antique letterpress equipment. Since then he has been making art prints, greeting cards, and gig posters using tools and presses that were discarded from old newspaper print shops and were destined for the scrap yard.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Using nature and life in the rural midwest as inspiration, along with the imprint of antique letterpress equipment, Tin Can Valley products exude a vintage aesthetic and warm nostalgia. Even though produced in quantity, each print is unique, pulled by hand from old printing type, and human-carved printing blocks.
