BIO

Pam Bidelman is a painter and works with various media including figurative and abstract work on paper, board and canvas. Her installation art features layered acrylic medium sculptural work, cloth, video, digital paintings and prints. She is a self-taught artist who has worked as a painter for three decades in her Saint Peter, Minnesota studio.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My artistic motivation derives from love of color and creation of simple forms with complex meaning. I focus on abstracted female figures that portray veiled histories and interior lives. They reflect the historical female need for self-protection and performative strategies in interaction with social structures of the time.
